04 May A Little Bit Country
On Saturday night on Sunfest’s southern-most stage country star Justin Moore performed his wholesome hits for an intimate crowd of loyal fans.
Wearing a massive, white stetson hat and belt buckle no smaller than the size of Texas, Moore and his all-America band performed his country hits.
I approached the stage as the Arkansas-born singer sang in his heart-aching tone, “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away.” While he strolled around the stage, the cowboy’s loyal fans raised their beers to the artist and swayed and sang along.
The stage lights changed from a medley of teals and purple, to the patriotic red, white and blue.
“I’d like to stay the night and play [again] tomorrow,” the Academy of Country Music Awards “New Artist of the Year” said, with his charming twang. Quite the compliment to SunFest, if I do say so myself.
The artist continued to delight fans by singing “Backwoods,” and “I Could Kick Your Ass.”
For his encore, the southern gent ended with his hit “Small Town USA.”
It was time for me to take a few steps back to the luxurious Hyatt Hotel and prepare for one more amazing day.
I’ll see you tomorrow!
