23 Feb A Warm Homecoming
Aside from birthdays, we all have treasured milestones that we use to casually keep time and celebrate the past 12 months. For most, we dote on our past and future adventures with romantic anniversaries, reunions, and family vacations.
But me? I gauge my life’s accomplishments with sounds and music festivals.
My name is Cassie Morien and I’m ecstatic to be returning as SunFest’s lead blogger.
Four seasons ago I was asked to share my festival insight with SunFest’s loyal community. I accepted. It remains the opportunity of a lifetime. As you may know, I’ve been living for concerts my whole life. Born and raised in Boynton Beach, SunFest was my first festival ever. My parents strapped me in a stroller and showed me happiness was bundled in frozen lemonades, colorful art sculptures, and more than 150 different sounds by the sea. I’m 28 years young and I can proudly count on one hand how many seasons I’ve missed.
Almost my entire life has been dedicated to writing about music. Nearly two years ago I packed up my tickets stubs, tearfully kissed my family and friends goodbye, and followed my heart to Austin, Texas. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I now live in a city where silence does not exist. My paychecks are quickly spent on concert and plane tickets, earplugs, sunscreen, and band posters. I have never been happier.
There is nothing I love more than sharing SunFest’s highlights and my veteran advice with you. Forgive me for being so bold, but I’m confident this will be the best year yet.
Some of the biggest names in the music industry will perform against a backdrop of palm trees and glittering lights in just 66 days. West Palm Beach’s Flager Drive will be yours. For me, this magical festival will mark my homecoming. Another new year of sounds and joy. SunFest is like nothing else.
I look forward to seeing your face in the crowd and sharing my words with you. Thank you for your love and support all this time.
