02 May Preview: Day Dos
The second day of SunFest is about to begin. Here is the scoop on who to catch tonight!
Raggy Monsters
It’s important never to judge a book by its cover or a band by its name. With that said, just close your eyes and open your ears to this West Palm Beach group.
This five piece ensemble swirls alternative-indie rock with classical elements. At first listen, I was immediately captured by Rachel Duvall’s voice and the band’s heavy use of piano.
This is my “can’t miss” set for the day. Raggy Monster will play the Ford Stage at 5:30 p.m. Their name, for the record, is borrowed from member Billy Schmidt’s imaginary kindergarten friend.

The Crazy Carls
Speaking of names, the Crazy Carls have a good chance of living up to theirs! No one in this quartet is named Carl, but their music will have you feeling, well, crazy!
The guys from Orlando play catchy pop melodies with a dollop of funk. If you were looking for an energy shot for your ears, the Carls will take care of the job.
Catch them at 5:15 p.m. on the Tire Kingdom Stage!

The Curve
I had the pleasure of interviewing West Palm’s The Curve last week and I’m excited to catch them live. The band has produced 11 releases and their set tonight should be a nice mix of all their albums. The Curve has had the pleasure of opening for an impressive number of bands, including Of Montreal, Switchfoot, the Black Crowes, and Chris Daughtry.
Don’t miss their set at the Ford Stage at 7 p.m.
Of course tonight’s headliners are Train and Big Sean. I’ll have those reviews and more for you tomorrow.
I will see you tonight, South Florida!
