07 Apr What To Bring To A Festival
SunFest is just a few days away! I don’t know about you, but I’m already scheming and packing all the goodies I’ll need for five days of sounds and sun. I spend every second of my vacation time exploring music festivals around the United States, and know better than most the essential items for such an event.
So what should you bring this year? I have a few recommendations!
You’ll definitely want a small bag or purse to carry your essential items (like your wallet and ID). Fanny packs are hilariously back in style, cross-body bags also leave both of your hands free– perfect for carrying ice cream cones, cold beers, or your significant other’s hand.
Speaking of essentials: Let’s review. Make sure you have your SunFest tickets, your ID (if you want that cold beer), and cash. SunFest accepts all major credit cards, but you need to tip those hard-working, much appreciated bartenders.
Whether you were born near the beach or visiting from Nebraska, another important item to pack is sunscreen. This festival is a marathon, not a sprint. Don’t make the mistake of getting fried your first day. Also consider stashing sunglasses, chapstick, and your favorite beach hat.
You’ll do a decent amount of walking and dancing each day, so take care to wear your most comfortable shoes.
Toss some earplugs and a kooze into your bag. Ladies, you should also grab a headband and hair ties to tame your mane. I also love to bring a colorful bandana to my favorite music festivals. I can use it as a headband, a sweatband, or a tiny blanket to avoid grass stains on your back pockets.
Bring your phone and a charger. There are charging stations throughout the festival so you can juice as needed. Another little suggestion? Back up your phone and clear off your photos before Wednesday! You’ll want a ton of space to snag selfies with your friends, and pictures of your favorite bands.
You’ll also need to download SunFest’s official app! It’s free and fantastic. With a few taps you can find exactly where to go to park, find delicious food, and locate an ATM. The app also allows you to set reminders for your favorite acts, so you know when to head to the next stage. We don’t need paper schedules that end up in a trashcan after the week is over. Go green and grab the app!
Lastly, pack an excellent attitude and an appetite! There will be so much great food this year.
That’s it. You’re ready for the best festival in South Florida. I’ll see you soon!
